Meet one of our workshop speakers, Amy Olsen, LCPC. Amy’s dream of becoming a counselor began when she was in junior high. At that time, she didn’t know how she was going to get there, just that she would. That was the vision Amy held on to all throughout school and into college.
Junior high and high school can be it’s own special kind of hell for many people. Amy saw how that pain affected people, and how alone they felt. Watching people struggle in the dark, not being able to see their lifeline or even tell which direction they were going, only strengthened Amy’s vision of becoming a counselor.
We all have dreams of what we want our lives, or aspects of our lives, to be like. Often that’s all we know. “Someday I want to….” When is Someday? Is it today? 6 months from now? A year? 5 years?
You owe it to yourself to make your Someday a reality. You deserve to make your vision happen. Allow yourself look at your vision, define it, feel it. Bring your vision out of the dark and into the light where you can see it. Allow yourself to find your direction and know, that even though you may veer off course, you can always find your way.
